This is a complete anode kit to replace all factory installed anodes found on the drive unit.
Includes mounting hardware
Magnesium anodes - for use in fresh water only
Aluminum anodes are what Mercury installs from the factory, but magnesium anodes are more effective in fresh water
Never paint anodes
Anodes should be checked and cleaned frequently - a dirty anode is not protecting your outdrive
Anodes should be replaced once they have dissolved 25-50%
Installation of a Mercathode system can prolong the life of your anodes
Boats connected to shore power should also have a galvanic isolator
